Infrared saunas are an effective tool for natural healing and prevention.  Infrared light has the ability to penetrate human tissue, which in turn produces a host of anti-aging health benefits.  This is achieved by specially designed heaters that emit infrared light experienced as radiant heat absorbed by the skin, and results in lower temperatures which makes it accessible to people who can’t tolerate the heat of conventional saunas.

Infrared saunas employ far infrared light, also known as FIR. Through the use of this

invisible band of light, objects are warmed without warming the air.

A great example of how this works:

Imagine it is a chilly but sunny winter day. You’re bundled up and you can feel the air around you is cold, but when you stand directly in the sun, you can feel the warmth. The sun is able to warm you without warming the air around you. This is FIR at work. As a matter of

fact, over 80% of the sun’s rays are actually infrared.

Infrared saunas mimic the same infrared frequencies emitted by the sun and the tissues in the human body absorb these waves. This process is called "resonant absorption", and it occurs when the frequency of the water in the body cells match the frequency of the infrared waves. When this occurs, toxins are released into the blood stream and are excreted from the body. Since the body is absorbing the heat and not the air, the body quickly begins to perspire and release the toxins.

Sweating is the body’s safe and natural way to eliminate toxins, heal, and stay healthy.  Far-infrared sauna benefits the body by heating it directly causing a rise in core temperature resulting in a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where toxins reside.  A far-infrared sauna helps eliminate about seven times more toxins than a conventional sauna.

Unlike traditional saunas, which operate at extremely high temperatures, an infrared

sauna produces a gentle, soothing and therapeutic heat that helps you relax while receiving an invigorating deep tissue sweat.  Infrared sauna promotes relaxation by

helping to balance cortisol levels, the body’s primary stress hormone.  The heat generated by the sauna will also help to relax muscles and relieve tension throughout the body, allowing you to relax, de-stress, and even improve your sleep.  Infrared sauna will

leave you fully refreshed after each session.

Pain Relief

Infrared heat penetrates tissue, joints, and muscles to relieve anything from minor aches and pains to chronic pain conditions, such as fibromyalgia.  Pain management professionals incorporate infrared heat therapy into treatment plans to decrease pain

and muscle spasms and to speed up recovery time.  If you suffer from muscle aches

or joint pain, an infrared sauna can relieve this form of inflammation by increasing circulation and relaxing your muscles.

Improved Circulation

Heating the muscles with infrared light produces an increase in blood flow similar to that seen during exercise.  As the heat from infrared saunas increases your core body temperature, your circulation will increase along with it.  Regular infrared sauna use can significantly stimulate blood flow up to twice the normal rate, improve muscle recovery, and decrease pain and inflammation after intense exercise.

Lower Blood Pressure

Infrared saunas induce a deep sweat to make the heart pump faster, which in turn increases blood flow, lowers blood pressure, and helps circulation.  Scientific evidence shows using an infrared sauna on a regular basis lowers blood pressure.

Cell Health

Infrared therapy stimulates the circulatory system and more fully oxygenate the body’s cells.  Better blood circulation means more toxins flow from the cellular level to the skin’s surface to improve cell health, aid in muscle recovery and strengthen the immune system.

Weight Loss

The heat generated by an infrared sauna will cause your core body temperature to increase, which also leads to an increased heart rate – the same increase in heart rate that you experience when exercising.  As the body works to cool itself, there is a substantial increase in heart rate, cardiac output, and metabolic rate, causing the body to burn more calories, and resulting in weight loss.  Studies have shown that a 30-minute infrared sauna session can burn upwards of 600 calories.

Wound Healing

Scientific research has concluded that  infrared therapy greatly enhances the skin’s healing process by promoting faster cell regeneration and human tissue growth.  Human cell growth increases to repair wounds and prevent infection.
